Hey everyone, so yeah, me and the team are once again all together in Nicaragua. It was so nice to be able to get some down time before the next leg of the trip, and I thank everyone that I saw for giving me a great time back……

So yeah, life here is in some ways the same and in other ways very different, like we all have been living at the church EL Puente and will for the next 4 ½ months. It is nice there, if I was to change anything I would make the showers less cold but I would change that in any place in nica…. So where was I… right El Puente sweet, yeah yesterday I got on to the kitchen counsel that is cool. I get to fry stuff and chop stuff and get to hang with some pretty cool people like Jess and Manuel and I don’t have to do dishes, always a plus… although Tana will read this and most likely say “Caleb you need to do that too”  love you Tana….

So yeah, all the people here don’t seem to have forgotten us yet we still cant walk down the street with out hearing our names. It is a good reminder of the work that we have been doing and the People that we are helping…. I don’t know yet what God has in store for me this year so I ask for your prayer for me and my family both in Christ and blood……

Good bye and God bless you……

  1. Hey Caleb,

So glad to hear that you are back and settling in! And by the way….
    “YOU NEED TO DO DISHES!!!!”

Got to keep up my ‘nag the boys’ image!

Anyway, glad to hear that you are settling in and finding new work. Cooking is always a fun job because you learn a skill. Jordan and I have been pouring over possible volunteer positions for him and I think he has found a good one, BUT… there WAS one in Belize, just a few miles north of you! If you had walked home you would have gone past it! 🙂

Anyway, it is still a possibility but for now he is focusing on “Unite For Sight”, where he will assist native nurses in providing optometric care to villages in Ghana. He will be able to see eye surgeries as well, since opthalmologists also volunteer their time. It is a neat program, from what we can tell, and apparently no special training is needed. Jordan is excited by the idea that he could volunteer his time and actually come home with a new skill and exposure to a different field. Anyway, he may still end up in your neck of the woods but for right now he is looking at Ghana.

I am quite excited for you to be able to do this mission…what a stretching experience. Even the cool showers stretch you, eh!

Well, warm hugs to you and prayers for good health, safety and the blessings of cultural differences that help us grow and mature.

    Love Mrs. Gamble

  2. Hi Caleb!
Great to hear you are back safe and sound and ready for the next thing! It was so good to see you over Christmas, (and to hear how excellent you are sounding with your guitar playing and singing!) that was fun listening to you. Let’s see. .. I was supposed to email you a song . . .hmmm . . .what was it? Too much on my mind lately to remember!
I’m looking forward to hearing how God will answer prayer and use you and your team for His Kingdom work. You are special young man, Caleb! God bless you as you serve him and those around you!
    Prayin’ for ya,
    Mrs. K

  3. Caleb,

It was wonderful to see you over the Holiday. The obvious uptake in your personal confidence and awareness was palpable. It’s awesome what a little time on your own with God will do.

Cooking! What a passion. I recall when living with roommates in college, a rule that when you were the days cook, you were playing Mom. That mostly meant that if you ruined a portion (overcooked, burned, etc.), well, that one was yours.

So don’t overcook the Iguana. You’ll have to eat it.

    Love you, Be well.
